If the water is clean enough (this little stream originated from a spring), one can do your washing in it. It is a toss up in my eyes to which is more hygienic!

I LOVE PILAS!!! I fantasized for months after coming home from Central America about how I could get my hands on one in the states...
Must have something to do with the wonderful (and difficult) memories and experiences associated with it.
