Soggy

I see on the news that California is having some unusually wet weather, causing flooding and quite a mess.  Last week we had our turn with a deluge of rain, and subsequent flooding.  Here are a couple of photos I snapped while driving on the valley floor (far more dangerous than talking on a cell phone I think, but not illegal yet!).

No, this is not a big lake, but normally  fertile farming grounds and pastures.  Happens once or twice every year.

I was thankful to return to my high and dry home that afternoon :-}

Sobriety Test

Better not drink and drive. You won't be able to walk this yellow line! Guess it will still be difficult to get out of Duvall for awhile.......

Is Man in Control?

Here are some photos I took yesterday on my way home from work: Lewis Street Bridge (SR203) heading out of Monroe

Along 203. It was closed, though those who lived no further than High Rock Road (the road we turn off on), could travel home. It was closed to all beyond that point clear to its other end point in Fall City, due to flooding over the roadway.

Notice they build the barns on berms just for this reason

Water up to roadway on 203

Half way up our mountain looking down on flooded valley floor

Coming up Lake Fontal Rd towards home

Along our private road

What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!
