Spring Hatchlings!
No, not here. Are you kidding? We had rain, sleet , ice chunk rain and snow here today. The poor babies would have died from exposure! However, my friend Terry, in California, has been following the nest of eggs you saw in today's earlier post. So amazing to have that on your front door! How fortunate she is.

Yesterday she heard little cheeps and bird noises, so she checked the nest and there they all were! I know that day-old hatchlings are in reality kind of ugly, but aren't they CUTE?!?!?! I hope to follow their growth on this blog. Yes, I have Terry's permission. But she needs to send me daily updates :o) She took this photo with a point and shoot camera, hanging over the top of the door!
It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. ~ C.S. Lewis

Family Easter
It was our good fortune to have Nancy and the grandkids come out this weekend. Saturday, with the help of Bethany L, many eggs were colored so we could have yet another hunt for eggs out in a cold, wet, blustery Easter Day today :o) No snow this year, though, so I am not complaining too loud......

Chicks!

I love all the bright, deep colors.....

It was good to worship as a family at church today, and to share a great Easter dinner together, though we sorely missed son Big Scott (in Japan) and daughter Bethany (in Guatemala).
Let every man and woman count himself immortal. Let him catch the revelation of Jesus in his resurrection. Let him say not merely, "Christ is risen," but "I shall rise. ~Phillips Brooks

Tucked In
Joy and I were able to get most of the rooted seedlings into pots today, though we ran out of potting soil, so will finish replanting the rest next week.
My hubby built a cold frame out in the garden area a half dozen or so years ago, for just such seedlings to be safe and warm enough to not get frost-bite while they continue to grow ..... and await the warmer spring weather's arrival.
We tucked the baby plants in, closed the lid and shared our excitement for the coming garden, as we high-tailed it back to the house and out of the rain. Brrrr.
Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed. Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders. ~Henry David Thoreau
